Coaching, Counselling & Psychological Services Singapore

At The Lion Mind, we provide life coaching, counselling, and psychotherapy within a psychology-grounded practice. Our services are designed to support individuals who are seeking emotional support, clarity, personal growth, and meaningful change.

Counselling and psychotherapy provide a safe and confidential space to explore emotional difficulties, mental health concerns, recurring life patterns, and personal challenges. Life coaching supports individuals who wish to clarify goals, strengthen self-awareness, improve personal effectiveness, and move forward in specific areas of life.

While life coaching, counselling, and psychotherapy each have different scopes of practice, they share one common foundation at The Lion Mind: psychological knowledge, evidence-based intervention, ethical care, and a deeply person-centred way of working.

We may bring psychological knowledge and structured intervention into the room, but you remain the expert of your own lived experience. Our role is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of what you are going through and supporting you towards greater wellness, clarity, and growth.

All information shared in session is kept private and confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or where there is serious risk of harm to yourself or others.

    Counselling Approach

    Our Approach

At The Lion Mind, our practice is grounded in evidence-based psychological interventions and delivered through a nurturing, collaborative, and person-centred approach. We believe effective support should be professionally informed without becoming cold, mechanical, or overly clinical.

Every client-facing practitioner at The Lion Mind, including our Life Coaches, Counsellors, and Psychotherapists, is required to hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology. This ensures that our support is informed by psychological science, research literacy, and evidence-based practice.

Where applicable, our mental health practitioners may also hold, pursue, or maintain relevant professional registration, accreditation, or membership according to their scope of practice, such as with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP), Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), or the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Our practitioners draw from structured psychological approaches where appropriate, while also respecting the client’s pace, autonomy, lived experience, and personal meaning-making process. We believe good support should be professional, ethical, compassionate, and deeply human.

    Life Coaches

Our Life Coaches support clients in areas such as personal growth, life transitions, goal-setting, self-awareness, emotional resilience, career direction, and personal effectiveness. Coaching at The Lion Mind is not used to diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, it helps clients develop clarity, direction, and practical steps forward.

    Counsellors and Psychotherapists

Our Counsellors and Psychotherapists support clients who are experiencing emotional distress, mental health concerns, relational difficulties, stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma-related concerns, or recurring life patterns. They use evidence-based psychological interventions while maintaining a person-centred and compassionate therapeutic relationship.

Where appropriate, our practitioners may integrate counselling and psychotherapeutic approaches depending on the client’s needs, goals, and case suitability.

We encourage in-person coaching / counselling sessions at our centre, as they allow for deeper therapeutic connection and a more grounded experience. However, we understand that in-person attendance may not always be possible. In such cases, online coaching / counselling sessions are available to ensure continuity of care.

What are the processes in Coaching / Counselling / Psychotherapy

At our centre, coaching, counselling, and psychotherapy generally follow four broad processes.*

    processes in Counselling
    Intake

This is usually the first session, where our clinician gets to know more about you, the concerns you are facing, and what your needs or goals may be. You are encouraged to share any problems, concerns, or hopes for the sessions, as this helps us understand how best to support you.

    processes in Counselling
    Assessment

In the upcoming session(s) after intake, our clinician may use screening tools, structured reflections, or clinical assessment tools to better understand the concerns you are facing, support case formulation, and monitor your progress over time. These tools help guide intervention planning and allow us to understand the severity and impact of your concerns based on your lived experience. Formal psychological assessment or diagnosis will only be provided by suitably qualified professionals where such services are available.

    processes in Counselling
    Intervention

Subsequent session(s) will focus on intervention, support, and meaningful change. During this phase, our clinician will work with you to develop coping methods, strategies, insights, or action steps that are suitable for your needs. Psychological education may also be provided to help you better understand and manage the concerns presented.

    processes in Counselling
    Termination

The final session(s) will focus on consolidating what you have gained, identifying practices you can continue applying, and developing a relapse prevention or maintenance plan where appropriate. The aim is to support you in becoming more confident and independent in managing future challenges.

    * The processes stated are general guidelines. They do not reflect a fixed number of sessions and may proceed differently depending on each client’s needs, goals, and progress.
